GORDO in The PAPAGAYO ROOM

 Here's a rare collectible which popped up on Ebay not so long ago -- from 1948, Gus Arriola marked a visit to Al Williams' Papagayo Room at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. A celebrity destination, the Papagayo's guestbook was overloaded with famous signatures and, in Gus' case, a sketch of his own Mexican-American import:
