GORDO IN THE 1970s: October-November 1974

One of the recurring treats of Gordo, over its forty year run, was the annual celebration of Dia de los Muertos. Arriola obviously obviously enjoyed depicting the candles, flowers, food and decorations. The decorative frames depicting skeletons at play are particularly well-executed. After that, Arriola gets a week's worth of strips out of Gordo's latest effort to hold on to his vanishing youth -- a fancy turquoise choker!
